Do you need a Snapchat account to run Snapchat ads?
Yes. Snapchat says that before you can launch ads in Ads Manager, you need a Snapchat account, a business account and a Public Profile. You can create all three online at ads.snapchat.com, without the mobile app.
If you are new to Snapchat
- Go to ads.snapchat.com and click Sign Up next to the New to Snapchat? prompt.
- Enter your business name, email, password and birthday, then create a username.
- Complete your Public Profile with an image and a bio.
- Add your business details, ad account country and currency, and a phone number.
If you already use Snapchat
Log in to Ads Manager with your Snapchat username and password, enter your business name and details, and Snap creates your organisation and ad account. You add a payment method when you are ready to launch your first ad.
Things to know
- You cannot change a Snapchat username after you create it.
- You can create as many ad accounts as you need in Ads Manager.
In practice
For an app or game, create the business account under a company email rather than a personal one, so the ad account, Snap App ID and audiences stay with the business. Invite your team or agency as members of the business instead of sharing one login.
