What does a CRO agency do?
A conversion rate optimization agency turns more of the people you already reach into paying customers. It finds where users drop off, designs changes to fix those steps, and proves each change with a controlled A/B test before it ships to everyone.
How is app CRO different from website CRO?
Website CRO tools do not reach inside native apps. App CRO works with your product team and with paywall and testing platforms such as RevenueCat, Superwall and Adapty, and it measures trial starts, trial-to-paid and revenue per user. Web-to-app funnels sit in between: the landing page and checkout run on the web, the subscription is used in the app.
How do we choose a CRO agency for our app?
Check five things. Can it cover the whole journey, from the paid landing page or web-to-app funnel through the store page, onboarding, paywall and checkout? Can it show a test log with ties and losses, explain how it sizes tests to your traffic and how it reads a result? And is the split of work with your product team clear? Then choose between a one-time audit and an ongoing programme based on your tracking, your traffic and your team's capacity.
Can one CRO agency cover the journey from ad to subscription?
It should at least be able to map and measure it. At Admiral Media the CRO team covers landing pages and web-to-app funnels, onboarding, sign-up, paywall, checkout and cancellation flows, and our ASO team tests the App Store and Google Play pages. When the store page is the bottleneck we combine both, so one team reads the journey from the ad to the paid plan.
What evidence should we ask a CRO agency for?
Ask for a test log from a similar app, with the hypothesis, primary metric, sample size, run time and verdict of each test, including ties and losses. Ask how they size a test to the weekly users at the step you want to change, and how they read a result: one primary metric fixed before launch, no early calls, and paying users or revenue per user rather than clicks.
Should we start with a CRO audit or an ongoing programme?
Start with the one-time CRO Audit and Roadmap if you are not sure where the biggest leak is, your tracking has gaps or your traffic is limited. Go straight to the monthly programme if your tracking is clean, you know your weekly volumes and your team can build variants every month.
Who builds the test variants?
Your product and engineering team builds and releases the variants in your app or site code. We do the research, test design, wireframes, copy and developer-ready assets, set up paywall tools with you, check tracking and QA before launch, and analyse the result. Nothing goes live without your approval.
How long does a CRO test take?
Each test runs 2 to 4 weeks, until it reaches the sample size planned before launch. Calling a test early inflates false wins, so the run time is set by your traffic, not by the calendar.
How much traffic do we need for A/B testing?
It depends on how many users reach the step you test each week and how big a change you need to detect. A step with a few thousand users a week can detect focused changes in 2 to 4 weeks. With less traffic, test bolder changes, test a step higher in the funnel or start with the audit. The traffic check on this page gives you a first estimate.
Do you test App Store and Google Play pages?
Store page tests, such as screenshots, icons and Custom Product Pages, are run by our ASO team. When the store page is the bottleneck we combine both services, so one team covers the journey from the ad to the paid plan.
Which tools do you work with?
For data: GA4, Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel and your MMP. For paywalls and checkout: RevenueCat, Superwall, Adapty and Stripe. If you already use an A/B testing tool, we work in it.
What access do you need?
Read access to your web and product analytics, your testing and paywall platforms, and the funnels in scope. You add us with the role you choose; we never ask for passwords.
How do you measure CRO results?
Every test has one primary metric chosen before launch, usually paying users or revenue per user, plus guardrail metrics such as refunds and churn. We report the lift, the confidence level and the downstream revenue effect, and we record ties and losses as well as wins.
How much does a CRO agency cost?
Admiral Media prices CRO as a fixed fee per app or domain, set out in your proposal before you sign. The one-time CRO Audit and Roadmap is priced separately from the monthly programme. The price depends on your case: your funnel, platforms and how many tests your traffic can support.
