Short answer

In Google Ads, open the Keywords page, set the date range, columns and filters you want, click the 3-dot icon, then Download and choose a format. For bulk edits, export a CSV from Google Ads Editor instead.

Export from Google Ads

  • Sign in and click Keywords in the page menu.
  • Set the table first. Your date range, columns, filters and segments all carry into the report, and segments appear as columns.
  • Click the 3-dot icon, click Download, then pick one of the listed options.

Google notes that complete data for a day is not available until 3 p.m. Pacific Time the following day.

Export from Google Ads Editor

  • Go to the Account menu, then Export.
  • Choose the whole account, selected campaigns and ad groups, or the current view.
  • If you have downloaded statistics, they are included in the CSV. You can edit the file and import it back.

In practice

App campaigns do not use keywords. You give Google text, images, videos, a budget and a bid, and it builds ads across Search, Google Play, YouTube, Display and Discover. So an app marketer’s keyword export usually comes from Search campaigns that support a website or brand terms. Export monthly, look for terms that spend without conversions, and add them as negatives.
