Uses public store data only. It cannot see your impressions, conversion rate or downloads, and nothing you enter is stored.
Share your app and markets. We will tell you what to fix first and what it would cost.
The checker reads your public listing in the store country you choose and scores the parts of it that affect how often your app is found and chosen. Each check is weighted by how much it usually matters; checks we cannot read are left out of the score rather than counted against you. Add a competitor’s link to see both listings side by side.
Curious how the biggest apps score? We ran the checker on 1,000 top US apps for our State of App Store Listings 2026 study. The median score was 83, and only 12% had a preview video.
| Check | Why it matters | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Apple and Google both give the title the most weight in search. | 22 to 30 characters: brand plus your most valuable keyword. |
| Subtitle (App Store) | A second indexed field for a different keyword theme. | 22 to 30 characters, no words repeated from the title. |
| Short and full description (Google Play) | Google Play indexes both. The short description is also your pitch in search results. | 60 to 80 characters for the short description, 2,500+ for the full one. |
| Screenshots | Most visitors decide on the first three screenshots without scrolling. | At least 6, with the core benefit first. |
| Preview or promo video | Shows the product in motion, which helps games and feature-heavy apps. | 15 to 30 seconds, product visible in the first seconds. |
| Rating and rating volume | Ratings affect ranking and conversion. | 4.5 or higher, with 1,000+ ratings in the store country. |
| Update recency | Regular updates signal a maintained app and give you chances to refresh the listing. | An update in the last 30 days. |
| Localization | Each language is a new set of keywords and a better first impression in that market. | At least 3 languages, chosen by your markets. |
| In-App Events (App Store) | Events can appear in search and on the App Store tabs. | At least one live event around launches, seasons or live ops. |
| iPad screenshots and release notes | Small signals of a cared-for listing. | iPad screenshots if the app runs on iPad, and release notes that say what changed. |
Start with red items in the title, subtitle and first three screenshots: they carry the most weight and cost the least to change. Then work on ratings and localization, which take longer. Fix one thing at a time and compare against a baseline in App Store Connect or Play Console, so you know what actually moved your numbers.
A high score does not mean your listing converts well; it means the basics are in place. The bigger wins usually come from keyword research per market, screenshot tests with Product Page Optimization or Store Listing Experiments, and keyword-linked Custom Product Pages. That is the work our App Store Optimization agency does every month.
Yes. It is an automated tool that reads your public App Store or Google Play listing. There is no sign-up and no cost.
Only public data: your listing page and Apple’s public app lookup. It cannot see App Store Connect or Play Console data such as impressions, conversion rate or downloads, and nothing you enter is stored.
The score checks the basics that every strong listing has. Installs also depend on keyword rankings, how well your screenshots convert your specific traffic, ratings in each market and competition, which need your private store data to judge.
Yes. Paste a Google Play link and the checker runs the Google Play checks: title, short and full description, screenshots, promo video, ratings and update recency.

After every release and at least monthly. Competitor listings, ratings and store features change often, and the checker only takes about 20 seconds.
